  personal note from darshana

The irony of last weeks ezine. People thought Flan was a dessert.

I don't actually have a Flan recipe. But I do have a great coconut custard. Perfect for a cool autumn day.

I hope you enjoy it!

In health,

  an awesome recipe

Coconut Custard

1 can coconut milk
3 eggs
1/4 cup maple syrup (or agave)
1/8 tsp. sea salt
1 tsp. vanilla
A few touches of nutmeg
A few touches of cinnamon

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Combine all ingredients with a whisk.
Pour into a glass custard cup or a pie plate.
Place in a pan of water and bake in a 350 degree oven for 45 minutes.

OPTIONAL:
Place in a pie crust and make a coconut custard pie. Here's a home made one created by former Fruition Women's Health client Cami Walker.

CRUST:
1 cup ground macadamia nuts
1 cup ground whole oats
1/2 cup fresh or dried coconut
1 cup brown rice flour
1/2 cup maple syrup
1/8 cup canola oil

Grind nuts and oats in a blender or food processor. Add all other ingredients to nut/oat mixture in the blender or food processor and mix until batter is well mixed.

Press crust batter into a glass pie pan and pour custard into pie shell. Wrap foil around the edges of the pan to protect crust from burning. Put pie pan in a water bath (set it into a larger pan with about 1/2 inch of water in it) and put in 350 degree preheated oven. Bake for 30-45 minutes until custard has set. Let cool at least 30 minutes prior to serving.

NOTE: Putting this recipe into a pan of water is essential.
Once you remove from the oven let it cool and make sure not to put the pan under cold water while it's still hot otherwise it will crack.

FAM WORKSHOP: Fertility Awareness Method workshop

We are blessed to have Sarah Bly coming to teach this workshop. She is a master of this information. Her heart is so big and her loving presence makes you feel comfortable with all your questions and hormonal issues.

I BELIEVE EVERY WOMEN SHOULD KNOW THIS INFORMATION. This class is not only for those of you would want to know about fertility (or a natural method of birth control) .

I teach the mini version of this information in the women and wellness workshop. Therefore I know that this information can support us with body image, sugar and food cravings, mood swings, acne and much more.

I took the workshop about 6 months ago and I loved it so much I just HAD to sponsor it at FWH.
